Halitosis

Halitosis is sophisticated word for “bad breath.” Depending on the cause, bad breath may strike on occasional or may be a more persistent condition. The most common cause of bad breath is bacteria. Because the mouth is moist and warm, it creates perfect conditions for the millions of bacteria that live in the mouth.

Therefore, halitosis may be a sign of Active Periodontal (Gum) Disease.  When commercial mouthwashes, such as Listerine or Scope, only mask your halitosis for a short period of time, gum treatment is needed.  Stronger mouthwashes are available.  We recommend the Oxyfresh product line of mouth rinses and toothpastes in conjunction with regular professional dental cleanings.  You deserve a clean, fresh breath!
